Went to leave work on lunch break today to my car battery dead, but I noticed my gas and temp gauge remained in the same spot that they were when I turned the car off. Could that be a contributing factor?

Mine does not and yes it appears there is a stuck relay somewhere that would drain down the battery.
The fuel level signal comes from the ECU as does the temp. I would guess that means the ECU is staying powered up. There is a fuse and relay for that coming out of the passenger side underhood fuse box.
