Does anyone know what all the foam in the engine bay is for? On my 3.8 there are three pieces. Under the engine cover there is a massive amount of foam,one piece that is covering I think is the high pressure fuel regulator,one over the top of the right side valve cover. My engine bay stays very hot well after shutting my car off!

Correct. The foam is for sound deadening on the fuel pump for the GDI on the right side and the top of the engine as the GDI system produces more sound from injectors noise than the previous engine.
