I am a 100% with you.
I was just wondering if I was playing in the good places or if I was way off.
I would like to add that I only tuned megasquirt so I'm still new on haltech
It probably needs more fuel in the cranking pulses and the CLT corrections.

I mainly tune Megasquirts and I would really like it for my car, but no e-throttle control is a no-go :/

I am Taiwanese Canadian immigrant living in Xian China due to work. I recently purchased the later version of the haltech plug&play for genesis coupe, it routes the harnenss under the dash so i have no heat issue.

I have full forge cp internal kit and a pair of tomei 270 cams along with tomei upgrade valve springs, as well as TD05 20G, twin disk clutch kit, all not yet install, not until i am fully able to control the haltech.

My current set up are intake, cx-racing FMIC, deleted cat with homemade 3" stainless steel turbo back straight pipe, 750cc injectors, stock turbo, stock internal, it was running strong at 1.1bar with CMD. EGT gauge, wideband, boost gauge, AEM 320 lph pump, oil cooler, haltech.


After I installed Haltech, I btw have some experience with megasquirt on N/A mx5 before, DSM link on 4G63BT. I got my injectors dial in, clean & stable idle, stable AFR, smooth blip on transit throttle setting, throttle calibrated, semi close perfect cold start dial in etc, weather is cold now so unable no dial in warm start. no CEL.


my gen with haltech starts and runs like charm before boost, i lower boost level to 0.4 bar on safe side, 10.5 wideband afr on safe side. stock base ignition map.



whenever i hit boost nearly 2800rpm-3600rpm, at 20-40-60 boost load, boost often surge and knock volts reads between 1v-3v. it feels like some kind of " cut " or some kind of "boost cut" "ignition cut" and sometime it just boost surge between 0.2 bar-0.4 bar , i tried 2 tanks of highest grade gas i can source from at two different gas station which i went at 1.1 bar with cmd, i also tried to retard ignition timing from base map as much as a range of -10+ degree, very down on power but I still get knock volt 1-3v. please guide me where to check as it seems somewhat tuning issue/setting issue. also I am probablly the only haltech guy or tuner wanna be in the province where I am living at so no other help i can source beside gen forum or haltech.

(BTW this sympton happen both on stock injectors and 750 injectors)



also, anyone ever have expereiences running tomei 270 cams in gen? if so, are you able to provide me a safe/conservative range of ex/in CVVT degree mapping up to 8000rpm for cams range at 270 ? if not, due to no dyno, and no experience with cvvt, my brother's suggestion is to lock them all at zero degree to sort of disable cvvt making 21 century motor back to 20s century example eclipse/talon 4G63BT.

My tuner will be in Shanghai during the Chinese New Year. Do you fancy a 1500 km drive?

The issue is I'm trying to have him retune me since April and I am still not 100% sure I'll see him during new year because he cancelled me before already. He's too busy!

Otherwise you need to drive to Beijing...

Hi Adam,

I was just wondering if the plug and play adapter is offered for both the 09-12 genesis coupe and the 2013+. I've got a 2013 MT 2.0T, and I'm looking at planning this for a few months down the road along with a water-methanol kit among other things.

Timpo, Currently the Pro Plugin for the Genesis Coupe 2.0T only officially supports 09-12 Gen coupe's. However, they have been used on 2013 cars. You must manually wire the A/C request to the ECU in the 2013 model to get A/C to work (the changed to CAN vs Analog in 2013) and the electronic W/G control does not function on the 2013 model cars.

Isn't the A/C done by PWM now?

Is there any planned support in the future for 2013+ models?

The A/C control is PWM, but the A/C request has been changed from an analog input to a CAN input. You can work around this by wiring the 2013 switch to the ECU directly.

I do not know if we will reprogram the CAN bus to accept the new A/C request input at some point, but if we did, I wouldn't hold my breath. Just do the mod and get it over with unless you can't live with that.

Thx for the help but I dont think I have the time to travel that far, my internet is down and its chinese new year, i had to sneak in my work place to get access of internet. :squint:
