Parking Sensors for a Track?

Does any one know if we can get the dealer to install the GT's parking sensors on a 3.8 track as a dealer installed option? If yes, how much would it be, roughly?

Nope the one downside to Hyundai cars is there is very little option wise that you can do with them. They do not have the wiring run for options that do not come with the model you have. So if you want them you are going to have to do it yourself.

You would need the whole system and a new bumper (with sensor holes). Its gonna be a grand or two at least from the dealer including labor (not worth it). If you really want it get a after-market kit and do it yourself. Although most members on here will say its a waste of money including myself. You are not parking a truck, you are parking a sports car, turn your head.

I have the parking sensors, and, TBH, they're kind of worthless.

1)There's no visual sensor (like on MB/BMW/Lexus/VW/GM) where you get some kind of icon or light to show you how far away you are.

2) The sensors go to full-tone (i.e. you're gonna hit something) when in reality there is 12-18 inches to spare. I'm all in favor of being extra cautious, but when you're trying to fit it into close-quarters, especially if you don't have a choice, having the sensors go off at 1 1/2 feet before the object is useless for actually parking.

3) The sensors are slow to react; for example, they take about 1-1 1/2 seconds before recognizing a newly-entered object into the sonar range, like someone walking behind the car or debris blown in the way. That's a bit slow, IMO.

4) The sightlines on this car are very very good. This car has very few blind spots when parking, so the sensors aren't really necessary. If you're REALLY concerned about seeing behind you, do what I did and buy a set of stick-on, convex mirrors to attach to your wing mirrors. Similar ones to these cost me $15 at autozone, although there are cheaper ones out there. Cheap example: Amazon.com: CIPA 49104 2" Round Convex Adjustable Spot Mirror: Automotive

Basically, don't get the sensors. You don't need them.

Yeah, I kinna guess it would be expensive. The track has all the features the GC got to offer but these sensors. Oh well, it's not worth it after all.

+1 on the backup camera. Since the track already has a nav, has any one gotten a camera to work with it?

The export models from Korea got short changed. My 2.0 Track is fully optioned, to include the parking sensors.

That's b/c Korea is so densely-populated, you have to park in shoeboxes. So you get the power-folding mirrors, and parking sensors.
