If you have the factory track spoiler I highly recommend you go tighten it right now!

Last night I was at the store, came out to my car and popped the trunk to put my groceries in there and I hear a rattle inside the trunk lid. I pull back the lining on the passenger side and immediately notice the bare bolt, one of the 10mm nuts that holds the spoiler on had completely backed off the bolt and was loose inside the lid. I was able to find the nut, went home and put it back on and tightened the other three nuts, they were all loose.

Without the nut on I was able to lift the spoiler away from the trunk lid, so with them loose I can only imagine water can possibly get in and of course the spoiler could vibrate while driving. I may go back and put them on with Loctite or use locking nuts to prevent this from happening again.

All you need is a 10mm socket and a couple of minutes, carefully pull back the lining on both sides and tighten the two nuts under there. On the driver's side you can pull the wire to the side to get to the bottom nut.

On mine where the bolt that went into the spoiler the anchor has been pulled out of the base. Think if you ripped a drywall anchor out of the wall. hopeful the three bolts are enough for awhile

Most reliable method to prevent nuts from loosening (if bolts are long enough) is to use extra nuts, in this case 4 and put them on top of the first one. When tightened, one nut holds the other and it's impossible for anything to come loose again.

My 2010 never loosened but I shall keep an eye on it. I wish I had the spoiler gasket like the 13s have
