I spoke with a sales rep from donquesthyundai.ca and he was dumbfounded as to why they don't offer Hyundai aftermarket parts with factory warrentee. So I asked if I could purchase a genesis coupe from them and have them at the aftermarket parts and then have it shipped. He said no problem but your factory warrentee wont go to the states. So I called USA Hyundai and was on the phone for 30 min. and they told me "Priveleged info," it was there is no reason, and no phone number or email I can call. Wierd. Any info???

I believe there was a special deal between NextGen MotorSports and some Canadian dealers to provide some aftermarket performance packages. I don't know if it was sanctioned by Hyundai or if it was strictly a deal with the dealerships involved. It may have been a pilot program to test the waters before a larger program was considered for the US.

There are a few R34 skylines in the US but that has stopped.
They were imported by a single company called AutoRex. they have since gone under and no other company has been able to aquire the rights to do the modifications needed.
It is definately easier to bring older cars into Canada though. I have sever friends that have some really nice imports from Japan.

There is an aftermarket parts catalog here in Canada, heres the online web site:
Hyundai - Performance Parts

They should have the rest of the Genesis Coupe catalog up in the early to mid summer, but now they only have a few little cosmetic things.

As for warranty concerns, you will need to pay for repairs up front and submit to Hyundai Canada for reimbursement. Just like if you were a Canadian, traveling in the US and your car broke down there. This information was as of around 2004~2005 when I decided to do an across North America trip to Cali for giggles sake.

Keep in mind too, that Canadian is 5 years 100,000 km (62,000ish miles) and the US is 10 years 100,000 miles.
