Brake cooling ducts

Anybody know where I can get some ducts to replace the fog-light housings that accommodate (even better, ship with) brake cooling hoses.

No one seems to make them. The aftermarket vented fog-light housings tend to be flat with no real good way of attaching some hoses to direct air to the rotors and calipers.

Any advice would be muchos appreciated.

if you use the foglight surrounds such as the ones on the r-spec you can cut the back portion of the area where the foglight is ment to be. you could cut it at different depth to make the hole to your desired size. then you can drill small holes around the opening and zip tie the hosed to the plastic. once you've done that duct the hose to the brakes. for that you can just zip tie it to the suspension arm. or you can remove the back shielding on the brakes an weld on a piece of tube that is the same diameter as the hose. once you do that you can just clamp it in place. there are a lot of things you can do to make it work with the stock set up.. or use a vent off of a small splitter..

Working on fabricating mine real soon. Have already removed washer reservoir & have old ducting off of my bimmer that should work out just fine with a little modification & finese. But, a little birdy told me that there is a vendor out there that has already developed some for marketing & are being tested as I type this......I will say no more.

I was looking at my pads and the rotor the other day whist bleeding the brakes. As I understand the concept of vaned rotors, they suck in air at the center and fling it out at the outside edge like an axial fan.

On the front you can see the center of the rotors on the back you cannot. On the front it appears that there is an area that is meant to be an air scoop. But it is at the top and to the front of the rotor.

If you did use this it would be simple to loop a hose up and support it at the strut, blowing down into the slot. The rear shield covers the entire rear and there is a bead rolled over towards the outside edge of the rotor.

On all other cars I have had these were routinely ripped off and counted towards weight savings and cooler brakes.
