looking for a fiberglass trunk with an integrated spoiler, I now I have seen them but cant remember where. I like the carbon ones but I don't like the cost and want to paint it body color so there's really no point in carbon. would preferably like one with out the indent for the H emblem. any help would be greatly appreciated

There isn't any reason to get a fiberglass trunk--or hood for that matter. Yes, CF costs more than FRP, but FRP costs exponentially more to paint due to the preparation that's needed. For example, a VIS K2 costs about $800-$850 shipped. If there were a fiberglass version available, it probably would be like $650-$700. That price difference of $100-$150 would easily cover the labor costs at the bodyshop, and that's if they do the bare minimum. Since CF parts are already completely smooth and have a consistent, even surface, those just have to be lightly wet-sanded before the painting process can begin. We're talking a difference in labor time of like 15 minutes for CF versus 2-4 hours for FRP.

IIRC all the CF hoods and trunk have fiberglass cores. So it's basically a fiberglass body panel with a CF skin.

Depending on how the FG panels are manufactured, it would take the same prep work for paint as a CF body panel.

There is a resin gel coat sprayed into the mold, gel coat set, then fiberglass laid/sprayed in. So what you are bonding paint to, is more paint.

^^^ 100% correct. You pretty much pay for aesthetics with the run-of-the-mill CF hood/trunk.
