doing big things lol im building a stroker motor with there kit and sleeveing the block and doing a 88mm piston along with a fully built head with the biggest cams you can put in it with a 6466 pte cea prob
Well the guy I'm heloing has that same stroker kit, along with 272/272 BC cams and one of the meatiest BorgWarner EFR turbo's I've ever seen... How can he apply

if he has the kit then there no reason to be sponcered i would think but thats intrestiong ,thats why im sending my stock cams to then to see if there evo x cams will work lol ,i want the 280s

He has the kit and ALL of his head is made with BC parts XD

I DARE YOU TO OVERHEAT!!!!! caps
Is this working?

By the way, I have my vented hood and it does not solve the problem. It might give me a little more time since heat really goes out of there, but it makes no miracle. I was enjoying my idle at 1750 again on the way back this afternoon.

Any news about the extension harness danperezsax? I believe this is the only reasonable working solution now :)

Yesterday there were record setting rains here in PR so I couldn't really do any actual testing.

I'm waiting till midday to take a long drive and see if it makes a difference, but the day I put it on, the ECU Temperature didn't go above 137F while being about 20 minutes idling. I'll publish more detailed results when I get them but again, I've always suspected the heat is produced internally, the location just aggravates the problem.

UPDATE:

First day of preliminary testing; driving around at 12PM with outdoor temperatures at about 97F

Haltech temperatures NEVER go over 150F, Battery Voltage never drops under 13.2V, my idle and the AFRs are spot on, never going out of range. I drove around for about 45 minutes, did not shut off the car once. A/C was on at all times.

How are you controlling the fan? Generic duty cycle with fan rpm vs. temp? Way to go!

I would..... but I just connected it to the Narrowband Sensor 12V fuse on the left fuse block (since I have no second NBO2), and grounded it. Switches on with the ignition XD

You can feel the massive heat that the Haltech expels through the fans.

That's great!
I hope it confirms and we can all do that on ours ;)

Let's give it a week of testing to make sure, but today sure looked promising!

I ordered some 33CFM 80mm fans on eGay today, once they get here I'll be installing those and also getting back to you guys.

Thanks for all what you are doing!

Harness came in Thursday. Been extremely stressed and busy all week, so I haven't had the opportunity to figure out how best to route it through the firewall. I took a hard look at it yesterday, disassembling parts of the engine compartment and still haven't found an easy port to thread the harness extension through. It will probably have to be drilled out, but in the heat we have here and with all the other BS I've been dealing with (not related to my car), I don't see myself doing that on my own. So I went to an car audio/customized electronics shop and let them have a look. The guy says he can definitely do it, but can't say how long it will take... he'll need the car for a day. I'm gonna try and drop it off Thursday morning and get it done.

The extension looks awesome, btw. They really did good work on it. Just measuring all the wires must have been a complete pain in the ass! I don't know if this is how the final product will look, as this is essentially a prototype. I gave them a very liberal measurement in case I ran into problems with the installation, so this extension is probably noticeably longer than it has to be. I will take measurements and pics of the mounting and final install and send them back to Haltech for development purposes.

After unboxing (lol sorry about the mess):

I tried taking that off yesterday, but couldn't get it off cuz the AC lines blocked it in. Do you know how to get that off without breaking the AC lines? I got both nuts off, which were a pain, but don't know how to detach the cover from the boxy housing underneath, or pull it off without maybe breaking the AC line. As you probably know, that is a very awkward location to work!

Just yanking on the top of it, which is what I did, does not leave room to pass the plastic connectors, and probably not the wiring, either. This harness is very wide. I think it's gonna come down to shaving open the hole for the hood latch, or using a huge unibit to drill the firewall. There may be a way past the fender, too, if we shave open the hole behind the wheel well. I don't really know what's best, so I'm happy to pay a pro to take care of this one for me, and get a proper solution that Haltech can tell its users about. Between this and El Dominio's option, it looks like we'll finally have the heat/TPS problems licked.
