When did you get the O2 housing installed? Is the sensor tight? how is voltage if you can test?

Last question, whats the mods associated with the 1.5 tune? It's almost injectors but not quite?

 

I had it installed a few months ago and just pulled the code now. The other 3 codes I got soon after the install. I checked the tightness and its in good, also fooled around with the plug itself and its fine, haven't been able to get it off though l, I need the proper socket.

The 1.5 tune is everything but injectors.

 

Is that for secondary o2? Kinda lazy to look up exact trouble code.
I know the depo catless housing has a defouler for secondary o2 that doesn't quite work well. Doesn't allow enough flow to o2 and basically will get a slow or no response code. Once there is a o2 trouble code it should throw the car into open loop which generally is a much more rich fuel trim for safety in case car leans out. Usually why people notice their gas mileage is garbage when an o2 code..

If its primary then that's difference situation

The code is for bank 1 sensor 1 so I'm assuming that it is the primary o2.

 

i did some more digging just now. HUUUUUGE exhaust leak where the 02 housing meets the DP.

 

^ really... I get that code too from time to time, usually after long highway drives. But always thought it was because of the high-flow cat. Maybe I should check mine too now

Is your DP / O2 a one-piece or two separate ones? And how did you determine it was a leak?

 

After looking up the code online, an exhaust leak is listed as the last possible cause for this code. I have a two piece dp/o2 but they're both depo.

I determined it was a leak after exhausting all o2 sensor possibilities. Also, earlier in the day I heard something pop while driving but nothing happened until after I left work. Thats when the exhaust sounded like a canal boat and the engine kept bogging down. When I got home I checked the tail pipes and noticed less exhaust fumes and pressure coming out. Also while revving I could hear exhaust gases coming out from somewhere. That's when I finally got under the car, put my hand under the joint where the o2 housing and dp meet and felt the exhaust coming out of it. Apparently a nut popped off and the gasket blew, I took it in today and had it fixed and everything's back to normal.

 

I had the leak fixed on friday yet the code still remains. methinks both my o2 sensors are shot.

 

Did you clear the code and it returned? If so, something needs to be replaced

 

cleared code using torque and reset ecu as well. it came back shortly thereafter.

 

The secondary o2 dosent do anything with how the car runs. The o2 right after the turbo is the primary 02 if you have a code for that then there is something wrong.

I was talking to my buddy last night about the 02 housing..he said that he put these spacers on the sensors to space them out from the housing and it worked for him because it's not reading all that gas

you use spacers on the secondary o2 sensor to try to have it not throw a code. don't touch the primary

 

I had the same p2096 trouble code returned to stock ECU and stock cat. Waiting on ultimate racing to give me word on whether the hi-flow cat is bad.

 

Add p0036 code to the list of codes now. Gonna clean the o2 sensors today, if that doesn't work, I'm replacing them.

 

P0136 is back
P0133 and P0140 are pending faults.

WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON WITH MY CAR? WHY IS IT EATING O2 SENSORS???

Possible culprits?

- SFR 1.5 tune which I suspect is running rich (yes AFR gauge is on the way)

- shitty depo o2 housing?

- possible short somewhere?

I'm at a ****ing loss.

 

Did you check the fuse?

Update: tested all the fuses and they're good.

Also tested the connectors to the wiring harness. I'm not sure how many of the 4 pins are supposed to light up, but only 1 did on each.

 

bumping this thread because I also have P0133 and I don't know what to do with it. I've already replaced the primary O2 with the Denso sensor and ALL exhaust gaskets, so I know I have no leaks anywhere. Totally clueless at this point.

 

if you touch the tip of the o2 sensors or get them dirty,it causes them to go bad!oil or dirt,had that happen when i first changed my exhaust,replaced o2 sensor and all was fine!bad thing about these cars is exhaust codes can come from so many different things!but if memory serves,i thought p0133 came from just the increased air flow in the exhaust,but was no real threat.had that code from the get go 110,000 and still going strong!

 

Never touched mine though. As soon as I removed the protective tip, it went right into the pipe. I've noticed sometimes p0133 gets replaced with the other lean code p2096 I believe and vice-versa, so I always have one or the other or even both at times. I'm not sure what it is but it seems to run fine with or without those codes. Could be tune related too.
