That would be the easiest. Wire up a LOC behind the radio. This is what I do on customers cars, that way if they come back in a month or so for a new radio, the RCAs are already behind the deck, and dont have to be re-ran. IF they have a non externally amped factory system.

for an aftermarket sub amp tap in to the front doors outputs, the rear outputs have less bass

And how did you come up with that? The base headunit is bi-stereo, not quadrophonic. Also, the rear speakers are the exact same and have the exact same power level to them as the fronts. Might be different in the premium since it's DSP'd 5.1.

i just got done replacing all the speakers and adding a sub and 2 amps and i had the sub connected to the rear ourputs of the LOC and there is a good 20% less bass in them compared to the front (it could also be the cheap Scoshe LOC)
Lucky for me the Eclipse amp does a great job summing the all 4 channels.
not too happy with the sound, too crisppy even with all tweeters at -3db, I ordered a mtx RE-Q5 hope that fixes it

Im using a PAC audio 4 channel converter right now. But im getting ready to place my kicker order(I get like 75% off kicker from work) and im going to be ordering the Sum8 line processor and a set of QS components. I normally wouldnt go kicker, but considering I can get the QS components for like $160, and the Sum8 for $75, I figure ill give them a shot. lol

I figure since they retail for about $550, they should be better than any other speaker I could buy for about $150 lol

I installed them in my buddies blazer and they sounded pretty good, BUT he was running them straight off the deck, so they left a lot to be desired. Since then hes done a Alpine 400.4, but he moved before I could hear them again. But I was highly impressed with there build quality. They arent dynaudios, but for this cheap, I dont think I can do better. Even my Diamond D6s I picked up on clearance were over $250, but I did love them.

so tap in the LOC to the head unit is my best bet? and inline the LOC with a crossover then to the amp?
yes but why do you need a separate crossover? most amplifiers have built in crossovers

unless you've got a powered LOC I'd recommend getting a powered crossover to help with low end clipping and to boost the signal for the distance. Or just buy a Kicker KV2 and you get both in one.

So where do I pull a remote signal to turn the amp on? i got the whole LOC for my RCA's and run a power wire straight from the battery and a ground in the trunk down packed I just don't which wire will give me amp signal =/ !!

splice into the #8 wire on the factory amp(its the factory turn on wire). There is a wiring diagram on here somewhere. I don't remember who's thread though.

Edit: That is assuming you have the factory infinity. If you have the base system the control wire is on the back of the radio I believe.

What is the final word on speaker levels between the front and back? I was going to splice into the rear speaker wires as it would be a little easier and cleaner.

Okay, so I am hooking up a 10" pioneer sub, and I have a 600 watt amp that I need to hook it all up to. I have the BASE MODEL that does NOT have the external amp on the rear panel. BUT, I do have a plug that the amp would plug into. Can I tap into this cable and use its information for my aftermarket amp? I'm thinking this will save me from having to run more wires to the back of my car. But I could be wrong.

hey if anyone could help me out that would be great haha, plan on installing 2 12's tomorrow and i have the track edition with the infinity sound system. i read through this whole thread just wanted to 100% before i get in there haha. So the infinity has an external amp that is behind the arm rest on the passenger side? and the best place to splice the LOC is between the amp and the factory sub in the deck correct? Last question has anyone proved sound quality from wiring factory amp --> aftermarket amp --> aftermarket subs. I understand its using its own 12V from battery just wanted to clarify this is the way to do it with the infinity sound system :)

also if anyone knows how to remove the panels to access factory amp that would be great :)
