I have had my 2016 Genesis coupe 3.8 for 4 years now and it has 32k miles, and im starting to smell burnt oil when I get out of my car after driving for 30 plus minutes. I live in california so i drive in the freeway between 70 to 80 miles per hour, mostly 75mph. I dont have any check engine lights and I dont want to take it to the dealer because if the car doesnt have a check engine light theyre too lazy to do anything else. Any suggestions or advice on what could be the problem? Thank you in advance, take care.

Get under the car remove the plastic shielding. Take a powerful flashlight and trace the under portion of the engine block. You are looking to survey:

1. The upper oil seal
2. The oil pan seal
3 The oil filter housing
4. The oil drain plug

The above are the most likely culprits. A small leak would have oil tricking down subject to forward motion, gravity, and the lines of the motor. The oil could end up spaying or coating parts of the engine/exhaust, once hot enough would cause the burning smell. These leaks can be very small, and the "burning" is an eventual occurrence.

Thanks buddy. I changed my oil drain plug crusher washer since i hadnt changed it for about 3 oil changes already. This stopped the smell of oil a lot. I got to work today and checked under and the oil or fluid seems to be running down my catalitic converters towards my exhaust. I see that all of that is wet too. Im gonna take it to the dealer since I think it should be covered. Thank you

Burning oil smell, means oil is hitting the exhaust somewhere. Most likely the headers.

Look around right above those areas, and trace back to where it's leaking.

If you're lucky, it's the valve cover gaskets
Wow the valve cover? Or the headers? I will defenitely check them out, thank you so much. Have you had this problem with your Genesis?
