the beep seems to come from a piezo speaker. Not sure where its at though.

Slap the person pushing the lock button more then once - unlock doesn't beep for me, could be different security system in Canada

 

probably. Mine beeps when unlocking. It doesn't when locking, when the trunk or the hood is open though.

 

I quickly glanced at the owner's manual yesterday and the only thing I found was for changing the "unlock mode", whatever that means.

I just want to disable any sounds when locking or unlocking using either the fob, or the handle buttons...

 

I wish I had beeps...

Has anyone figured out a way to disable the audible tones when locking or unlocking? Or is it just not possible on this car?

When I switched to a VIS CF OEM hood my R-Spec stopped doing the loud faggoty honk when pressing the lock button twice. Something about the hood not fully pressing down on a button on the left side of the engine bay due to the lack of weight. Find a way to disable that button, perhaps?

 

can't disable that button otherwise the security thing won't activate.

 

People ignore alarms nowadays anyhoo.

 

Put some sound deadening material over the speaker.

 

I was told you press the lock/unlock on the remote at the same time. Haven't tried it so not sure if it works

Mine only beeps to confirm, a.k.a. I press lock twice or unlock three times... Just to tell me "DUDE, IT'S ALREADY LOCKED/UNLOCKED, CUT IT OUT!"

 

Mine has always been silent when unlocking or locking, even double-locking.
