How reliable

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a Genesis coupe V6. I've recently sold my 2.0t and am looking for a V6 model but I have an issue.

I'm getting a bit scared as I'm reading the reliability posts on how the V6 engines tend to "blow up". How common is this? Does this happen to all the trims? Does getting a bk1 vs bk2 have an effect on this?

I'm looking to buy a V6 with less then 50k kms and sell it shortly after 120k kms but I even hear how they blow up before that...

Thanks for the help 🙏

Who are you hearing they blow-up at such a low mileage..far below the warranty? There is at least one person on this forum and I believe several who have north of 200k miles on their 3.8 engine. That engine is still in use on some models. Engines usually blow up because of poor maintenance and treatment. My BK1 2.0T had 134k miles on it when I traded the car and it still ran like new.
The 2.0t engine is a good reliable engine, it's the 3.8 that concerns me. The term brown engine is usually referring to spun rod bearings. At least for the Genesis groups.

I've put 187k miles on my '13 3.8. OE engine, transmission, and suspension. She gets driven solid daily, seeing redline and having fun. I do proper maintenance and check oil religiously(even though she doesn't lose any) and it has been an extremely reliable vehicle for me. I will retire her from daily use this upcoming year and it will be well over 200k miles by then. I definitely got a great bang for my buck and have zero regrets.
What trim do you have? Is it a manual or a automatic
