Is Bypassing the Stock Solenoid safe? Please help

Couldn't find a definitive answer sorry to post a new topic. Is it safe to bypass the stock ECU solenoid and use the intake manifold as a vacuum source for boost. I just hooked up my turboxs RFL BOV to the intake manifold and capped the Stock solenoid. The boost holds perfectly now. No more hesitation/sputter. But my tuner is telling me its not safe.

Can anyone verify? Should I go back to the Solenoid?

He says

"Be careful doing that I don’t like that solenoid being bypassed it is weak and it does fail but the computer is looking for a particular vacuum and boost level and if it’s bypassed it’s not there"

"There’s electrical connecter that goes to it in the computer is looking for that signal if it’s not there it’s going to be unpredictable. Just because it’s common doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good thing."

I just got a CEL today after hitting max boost. And I'm suspecting its because of the solenoid bypass, as thats the only mod ive done lately. Not sure why, I've capped off the solenoid and everything. The CELs on but the bov is still blowing off normally and I'm hitting my normal boost levels. Unfortunately i dont have a wideband yet to monitor my AF/R. Side note: i replaced the primary cat with depo o2 housing around 800km ago but never got a CEL then could the CEL now potentially be from that?

The reason why the car is throwing a CEL from what I'm reading is that you deleted both cats with your O2 housing. Without a tune, a CEL will be present. If you capped off the solenoid and ran the lines and teed it where Red Raspberry said, there should be no issues and CEL. Get a tune where it turns off the O2 sensor CEL and you'll be golden.

I have a stage 2 tune actually and the file was already configured to have the O2 CEL code bypassed so the ecu never threw a code when I slapped on the depo o2. Plus it's been about 1000km since I've driven with the o2 housing with no CEL (until recently). What I'm going to do is wait and see if i get the CEL again and run it on odb2 and report back to you guys. Thanks
