It's odd, I can take my car apart down to the frame and put it back together again no issues, even rebuild the motor while I'm at it, but tires for whatever reason.. f*ck me up. I researched the piss out of them when I was sizing my ForgeStars, ended up copying someone else on the forum (different colour) because I still couldn't get everything to work right in my head but they had pics and I liked the stance.

He's right about everything, except the last part. I'm running a 285 tire on a 10.5" wheel in the rear with a +25 offset, and I've still got a good bit of room between the tire and the strut.
You should, you moved the tire out 2mm and added 5mm width, still 6mm left, farther away than the front I'm sure.

The question I still have is real width differences between manufacturers. I know my 325's Nitto's are not as wide as the Goodyears by a few mm's on my other car, I'm just wondering how the hancook's measure up? Do they run a little wider, less, or dead on than advertised widths.

:dunno: I'm confused as to what you're saying lol
If you look at the pic I posted on the last page, it shows a 9.5 275 combo, with +27 offset 9.5 mm from strut. +25 you moved the center of the tire out 2mm, but added 10mm overall width, so 5mm on the one side....

9.5 - 5 + 2 = 6.5mm space between tire and strut. It's all math... :)

Ohhhhh... I didn't know you were comparing it to the pic lol I gotcha now
Sorry, one of those times I knew what I was talking about but nobody else. :)

I don't know why your telling him to move the rim so far out of the wheel well, as you can see the tire is still 20mm from the strut with a 9.5 @ +27.

So, a 275 tire is wider than a 9.5" wheel?

What you guys are saying is...

Front: 19x8.5 +22 with 245/35-19 and not 245/40-19
Rear: 19x9.5 +22 with 275/35-19

Unfortunately the R-S3s don't come in a 245/35-19.

Yea, 9.5 X 25.4 is 241.3mm rim versus 275mm tire.

The 22 offset would put the rim right on the lip flush.

Gotta get a different tire then, don't go with the 245/40

^I feel like I've answered this question about 20 times in this thread alone haha but no worries :D ....
Front - 20x9 +25 w/ 255/30/20
Rear - 20x10.5 +25 w/ 285/30/20

You can fit that setup you want as long as you have the correct wheel offset
So by using the chart and tillys suggestions I could do A 285 35 19 In the back.on A 19x10.5 wheel with A 22 offset?

lol... the chart I made answers most of the questions...

It's like a page or two back for the people that want to go wide on 19s.
245/275 as well....

Screw it not finishing the chart to accomodate spacers or no camber fitments..

LOL...

Overall Diameters
OEM 245/40/19 = 26.71"
275/35/19 = 26.57"
285/35/19 = 26.85"

Yes, you could run a 285 or a 275. Pick your poison :D
Ok I'm sure this had been visited many times but I'm at drill on my phone. I thought people were doing 245/35/19 in front? Do you know over all Diameter on that versus three 40 to the front?

I'm just gonna be a sheep and follow Harry's chart.

20x9+20 on 255/30 and 20x10.5+25 on 285/30 :D
Just to make sure brother, with those tire sizes, you can only lower your
car around 2 inches (a bit lower than Sportlines). That being said it'll still have close to no wheel gap.

:p

This is about an inch lowered from factory (on coilovers though).

20 x 9 +20
20 x 10.5 +25

245/30/20
285/30/20

Fronts were a bit more stretched than the rears, but this was when I was experimenting with tires...

255/30/20
285/30/20

Will be good for you. :p

I'm not of fan of stretch. Guess I'm too old lol

I'm good there. Still running on Tein springs until my struts blow. Then I'll be getting on HSD coils :D

For the front you can run a 245 or a 255 on a 9" wheel. A 245/40 is bigger than OEM

Overall Diameter's
OEM 225/40/19 = 26.08"
245/35/19 = 25.75
255/35/19 = 26.02
245/40/19 = 26.71

Tilley, what brand of tire are you running on your back wheels at 10.5 +25?
thanks in advance
