I have read on here and other sites, and it seems like the forge plate is what most run. I stumbled upon this on ebay...

This one is the same shape, but lacks the o-ring the forge has..

Then there is another one that is thicker...

But the forge plate has the o-rings, where these other ones do not. What is the reason. Why pay $40 when I could pay $15??

Should the o-rings create a better seal?

Also side question, when blocking this off, to run a cold side bov, do you just disconnect the plug at the bov so it doesn't try to function?

if you use a spray bottle with soap, you will see a regular block off plate without any kind of sealant will leak.

Well comone sense is metal with metal wont seal 100%. Thats why the engine cover, head, exhaust pieces ect have gaskets...

The reason the head has a gasket isn't because its metal to metal...It's more because of the heats it creates tends to make those metals flex enough to need the gasket to compensate. However, I don't see why the cheap plate is any different than the forge adapter, other than the o-rings. Which to me can be made with the above mentioned rtv, or paper gasket.

I still think I will be going with the forge, and probably upping the ante with some rtv!
